Exercise Pacific Challenge X 2023

Scenario Overview

 

SITUATION

USINDOPACOM continues to conduct operations in the combined joint operations area (CJOA) Indolaysia (IL) under the named OPERATION PACIFIC CHALLENGE. USINDOPACOM exercises control of OPERATION PACIFIC CHALLENGE operations through Combined Joint Task Force-Indolaysia (CJTF-IL). Operations are on-going. The CJTF-IL has effectively defeated IL forces on the Malay Peninsula with remnants of the IL 4th Div currently being guarded by the USA’s I Corps under the conditions of their surrender agreement. Task Force Singapore (TFS) has been disestablished and reembarked for follow on operations.

 

MISSION

USINDOPACOM executes TCP Objs, SC, and combat ops under the OPERATION PC’s campaign and directs CJTF-IL to continue offensive ops to defeat IL forces on SI in order to open the Strait of Malacca (SoM) and restore Freedom of Navigation (FoN).

 

KEY TASKS

  1. Defeat IL forces on Sumatra Island (SI) and IL naval forces in the SoM.
  2. Develop a plan that prevents further control over the SoM by adversary forces
    and ensures access to all nations under the conditions of international law.

 

END STATE

FoN in the SoM and international maritime traffic is restored and future threats to control the Sea Lines of Communication (SLOC) are eliminated.
