How to Use this Guide

Marines! We've made every effort to connect you with access to the titles on the Reading List. 

BLUF:

  • Note the icons associated with each title. Hover over the icons with your mouse to see what formats are available, and where, and if a discussion guide is available for the title.
  • Click on the Navy Digital Library links to go to the NavyMWR Digital Library.
  • Click on the MCCS Base Library links to locate an item at your nearest Base Library (but not MCB Quantico).
  • MCB Quantico Marines Only: Click on the book title to connect to Quantico’s online library catalog. If the title is not linked, copies are not yet available at the Quantico Libraries.

Although not obligated to provide any of these materials, the Navy Digital Library website carries many books on the Commandant’s Professional Reading List.  After logging into the NavyMWR Digital Library site, click on the ebooks and audiobooks link, then the OneClickDigital graphic or the Overdrive graphic. 

Some titles are available freely on the internet, either from Marines.mil, or other service websites such as the DOD/MWR Online Library (accessible via MilitaryOneSource.)

 

 

  • You will need an account to access Navy Digital Library (CAC) and DOD/MWR Digital Library (see websites for instructions).
  • Any accounts must be created by you at those websites. 
  • Content provided by the MCU Research Library is indicated with a red padlock. Because of licensing agreements, this content is authorized for access by Marine Corps University students, faculty and staff only.

NOTE: You do not need an account to browse the Commandant's Professional Reading List website. All digital ebooks and audiobooks listed are accessed via the Navy Digital Library (CAC) and/or DOD/MWR Digital Library.

HOW TO ACCESS BOOKS, EBOOKS AND AUDIOBOOKS

  • Visit your nearest HQMC-MCCS Base Library to obtain a library card. With it you can check out print and audiobooks, and get information on how to access online collections. 
  • Visit the Navy MWRDigital Library website. Sign in with your CAC or username/password login. Contact Navy MWRDigital Library for technical and customer support, including help with creating accounts and using their databases.
  • Visit the DOD/MWR Online Library at MilitaryOneSource. Contact MilitaryOneSource to create an account and access the online library. Contact MilitaryOneSource for technical and customer support, including help with creating accounts and using databases.
  • MCB Quantico Marines Only: Visit the Library of the Marine Corps at the Gray Research Center to obtain a library card, and get information on how to access online collections.
