On February 24, 2015, a Warfighting Discussion Panel was held at MCB Quantico. The topics of discussion: warfighting tactics, maneuver warfare, and how the Marine Corps changed throughout the careers of three key players in the development of MCDP 1 - Warfighting.   • Lt Gen Paul K. Van Riper (USMC, Ret.), former commanding general of Marine Corps Combat Development Command
  • Maj John F. Schmitt (USMCR), author of MCWP 3-1 Ground Combat Operations, MCDP 1-2 Campaigning, and MCDP-1 Warfighting
