QPME: The Wounded Warriors

This guide provides information about the United States Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment (WWR) and links to articles and resources about injuries and illnesses that affect our wounded warriors, their families, and fellow service members.

Seeking Support

The WWR supports wounded, ill, and injured Marines through four lines of operation: mind, body, spirit, and family. By reminding people that recovery requires healing in all these capacities, the WWR supports the whole person as well as those who support them.

Identifying Problems

The signature wounds of this war, post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury, often go untreated due to delayed onset and a reluctance to seek help. TBI and PTSD care requires compassionate and supportive leadership; we must proactively engage at every opportunity to ensure we have the right treatments, available at the right time and accessible by all Marines regardless of their location. Understanding the signs, symptoms, and impacts of TBI and PTSD, as well as how the Wounded Warrior Regiments provides recovery care coordination, will enable leaders at all levels to keep the Marine Corps strong.
