Military History Maps: Civil War.

Donated collection of Civil War maps from the U.S. Military Academy. Jeremy F. Gilmer, an 1839 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, became a Major General and the Chief Engineer for the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. In 1906 Gilmer's daughter donated these numbered maps, produced for the Confederate Engineer Bureau in Richmond, to the USMA Library. A related collection of maps is held by the Virginia Historical Society.
