INFO FOR INCOMING MCU STUDENTS

ACADEMIC YEAR 2025-2026

Congratulations on being selected to attend Marine Corps University!

This page provides information on MCU Research Library accounts for MCU students. The MCU Research Library is located in the Gray Research Center on the MCU Campus. Your student account will allow you to borrow materials, place interlibrary loan requests, and use academic databases from home or off-Campus. (You can also access them onsite at the GRC and MCU Campus.) We hope you'll make good use of our print, journal, and over 100 academic database collections!

AY25-26 STUDENT REGISTRATION

Student Library Account Registration is an online-only process. Here's how to register:

1) Complete the Library's registration module that is part of the MCU Onboarding Course in MarineNet.

2) Complete the entire MCU Onboarding Course in MarineNet. (Completing this onboarding course confirms your enrollment at MCU and is mandatory. See the "Onboarding Courses" page at the MCU website for links and instructions.)

3) After #1 and #2 are done, the Virtual branch will create your student account. Your account will be ready to use on your school's report date (see "Account Activation Dates"). We cannot activate AY25-26 accounts any earlier.

• Please do not try to register in person at the library. We create your account based on your input in the MCU Onboarding Course, Library module.
• We can only create accounts for students with confirmed enrollment, i.e., those who have completed the MCU Onboarding Course.
• Your school may assign prep work and readings ahead of time -- Don't worry, we'll make sure you have access to what you need to read even if your account is not yet active.

ACCOUNT ACTIVATION DATES

The AY25-26 dates are:

• MCWAR: activates 30 June 2025 (expires 30 June 2026)
• SAW: activates 30 June 2025 (expires 30 June 2026)
• CSC: activates 22 July 2025 (expires 30 July 2026)
• EWS: activates 22 July 2025 (expires 30 July 2026)

When your account is activated, you'll receive an automated account confirmation email with your account number, links to your Library Field Kit, and other useful info. Please check your email and spam folders the day after the activation dates listed and make sure to allow notifications from our library system.

FAMILY MEMBERS OF MCU STUDENTS

• Family members are welcome to sign up for an account with the Quantico Base Library, also located in the GRC.
• Family members cannot use their spouse's or parent's MCU Student accounts to check out books or access databases. This is due to licensing and usage seat restrictions.
• Unfortunately, we're not able to offer online registration for family members at this time.
• Please direct any inquiries to the Quantico Base Library (703) 784-4348.

• Early PCS? Many students move to Quantico several months ahead and want to use their account right away. In those cases, we issue an Active Duty-type account for the interim period. We'll convert your account to a student account on your school's report-in date, provided that you've completed your MCU Onboarding Course requirement.
